P-TOLUENESULFONYL CYANIDE - Introduction
P-toluenesulfonyl cyanides (p-Toluenesulfonyl cyanides) are organic compounds. Its molecular formula is C8H7NO2S, and its structure contains tolyl and sulfonyl cyano.

1. Appearance: P-toluenesulfonyl cyanide is a white crystalline solid.
2. Melting Point: about 125-129 degrees Celsius.
3. Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents.
Use:
P-toluenesulfonyl cyanide can be used as a reagent for organic synthesis. It is often used in the synthesis of biologically active compounds, such as drugs, pesticides, dyes and so on. It can be used as an Amine protecting agent, that is, it can produce sulfenamide or ether, it can also be used as a deprotection reagent, and it can also be used for cyanation reaction and carbonylation reaction.
Method:
P-toluenesulfonyl cyanide can be prepared by reacting methanesulfonyl chloride with hydrocyanic acid, and the HCl generated by the reaction can be neutralized by alkali.

P-toluenesulfonyl cyanide is irritating to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes and may cause allergic reactions.
